disney charm

disney definitely knows how to appeal to our sentiment side. this commercial brings me to tears almost EVERY TIME i watch it [i swear. just can't help myself!]

it brings back those warm childhood memories of the days we spent counting down until we could open our christmas presents, and birthday presents, and the eagerly awaited disney trip to take pictures with all of the characters we spent hours watching on tv.

i'm not a HUGE disney fan or anything but last saturday big poppa [aka, my dad] got tickets to the disney on ice production. my cousin/munchkin [ Lucy, 5yrs] has been to disney on ice and all the other disney productions  for the past 3 years.  i was away in college for the past 4 and was never able to experience it with the munchkin.

that night she dressed for the part [no i didn't take the crown to the show. i only wore the crown for the picture]. she embodied princess aurora for the night. she was wearing pink heels as well [yes, we are training the munchkin early] the prancing around the house and need to take pictures before we left was ONLY a warm up for what was coming. the yelling, ear to ear smile, and excited comments on the car ride there was the BEST part of the night for me. [to be honest, i was just as excited as her] once the show started the pointing, ohhing and awwing didn't stop.

i ABSOLUTELY love doing things like this with my munchkin princess. i've missed out on a lot of family memories while i was away and since i've been back [july 2010] i've been putting an effort to have closer relationships with family members. and have them see me as a friend and confidant and not just a blood relative.

point being it's wednesday and i still can't stop smiling! thank you disney for the wonderful magic you bring.
